Dear Pastors and Ministry Leaders:
The Compassionate Friends has established a chapter in Greater Boston.
The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive.

The Compassionate Friends was founded 40 years ago when a chaplain at the Warwickshire Hospital in England brought together two sets of grieving parents and realized that the support they gave each other was better than anything he, as a chaplain, could ever say or provide. Meeting around a kitchen table, the Lawleys and the Hendersons were joined by a bereaved mother and the chaplain, Simon Stephens, and The Society of the Compassionate Friends was born. The Compassionate Friends jumped across the ocean and was established in the United States and incorporated in 1978 in Illinois.
Each chapter, along with the supporting National Office, is committed to helping every bereaved parent, sibling, or grandparent who may walk through our doors.
Today more than 600 chapters serving all 50 states plus Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico offer friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, siblings, grandparents, and other family members during the natural grieving process after a child has died. Around the world more than 30 countries have a Compassionate Friends presence, encircling the globe with support so desperately needed when the worst has happened
The Compassionate of Greater Boston meets every first Tuesday of the month at the Reggie Lewis Center, located at 1350 Tremont Street In Boston, MA. You can contact the Greater Boston facilitators at 617-288-8068 or lfstrother@comcast.net.

Sincerely
Francis & Linda Strother

Hello Mr. Prieto,
Hi, my name is Jordan Davis and I am interning Boston Education Collaborative with Ruth Wong and the Emmanuel Gospel Center. The BEC is very much concerned in trying to understand how the educational needs of Christians are being addressed in the city and the BEC (in coordination with the EGC) seeks to support the church and other organizations within the community to come together, network, and come up with ways to address the complex problems of urban Christians. Specifically, we wanted to ask if you could host a focus group with your youth. We have done a number of focus groups this summer and feel like it would be benefit both parties to be involved. Feel free to contact Ruth at 617-877-9664 or rwong@egc.org for more information. Thank you for your time and have a blessed day!!

-Jordan Davis
