Dr. Roberto Miranda : A vision for revival in New England

Presentation given at 'Biblical Worldview Conference' in Boston April 7,2006:
I have been assigned the task of presenting a vision for revival in New England. I will begin with a disclaimer. What I have to present is admittedly a very personal view, one that reflects my own theological, cultural and perhaps temperamental inclinations. My presentation is therefore very partial and relative in its content. I do not pretend to be giving a “Thus saith the Lord,” or to be declaring absolute, incontestable truth.  Read More »

Mark Mueller : March 2006

As I have written previously I have been in the process of moving to another city, San Pedro Sula, and of transitioning to serve with Cure International, a mission that performs pediatric orthopedic surgery. I have already moved and praise God all went well. Unfortunately there have been some delays in my start with Cure but I hope to begin the ministry soon. Meanwhile I will be updating my training program and exploring new opportunities to train people in pediatric physical therapy. Read More »

Sermon March 25, 2005 : Acevedo - What does it mean to be a friend of God?

The last couple of weeks Pastor Greg has been showing us about prayer and coming to God with prayer, and the fact that, you know, the Lord knows what you need but the most interesting thing, He has…., remember what he said?, pastor Greg. The Lord has wired the world so that in order for us to get whatever it is that we need from God, we actually need to talk to him. So he’s arranged things, God has gone out of his way to force us to talk to Him if there’s anything that we need from Him.  Read More »

Paul Jehle : Revival of what? Mind, soul, or spirit? Pick all three!

For the culture to change, Christians need to change first - in all 3 areas: mind, soul and spirit. This is the opinion of Paul Jehle who recently gave a presentation at Lion of Judah. Says Jehle: Through our church history we have seen movements that have emphasized one of these 3 areas. There are some that have emphasized the external and they believe if we change the culture, then we’ll change the heart. And so we clean up areas socially hoping that the heart will change. But if we only focus on the external we miss most of revival. Because the Bible tells us your are changed from the internal to the external. Read More »

Sermon March 4, 2006 : Why do we fast?

It’s not a very popular subject: fasting. How many say, yes, Lord, alleluia, fasting. Yes, I’m going to do it! It’s not something that lends itself to that kind of enthusiasm and yet it is a very powerful thing. It’s sort of a spiritual steroids, if you will. That’s what fasting is, and yet the comparison that occurred to me when I was thinking about that just a few minutes ago, is not really complete because steroids smacks of cosmetics, kind of doing things, taking the shortcut to strength and performance. While actually fasting is a legitimate way of seeking strength, and of seeking spiritual muscularity, is that a word? If it isn’t one of you, experts, correct me later on. But, it is a wonderful way to obtain that energy, that power that we need as believers.  Read More »
